Mission District Murals

On Friday I took a solo trip to the city to check out the Mission District Murals.  San Francisco is home to nearly 600 murals and the Mission District comprises a large number of these.  I took the BART to the 24th Street Station and explored the surrounding area.  Many of these pictures are of murals located on Balmy Street.  Balmy is a residential alley that boast the largest concentration of murals in San Francisco.

Golden Gate Park

This past Sunday was my first trip to Golden Gate Park.  Rachel and I drove to the Daly City Bart Station and then took the 28 Bus to the Park.  In all, we spent about 4 hours walking around the grounds before catching the bus back to Daly City.

In my humble opinion, the Golden Gate Park is one of the best things I have seen in San Francisco and is incredibly underrated.  In fact, in my visits to San Francisco before moving here, there was never even a mention of visiting the Park.  I would guess this holds true for most people who are only here for a long weekend.  There is so much to see and do in the Eastern part of the City that heading to the Park and Western shore is not a top priority.  There is also no Bart or Rail access which is a legitimate hinderance.  However, I would encourage anyone who is visiting the City in the future to pick up a bus route map and visit the Golden Gate Park.

The day we visited was coincidentally also "Sunday Streets" which is a once a month event put on by the city that closes down miles and miles of highway for pedestrians and bicyclists.  Our day was spent walking the paths between the DeYoung Museum and Buffalo Paddock.  This constitutes only about 2/3 of the total grounds.  I look forward to returning to see the rest of the grounds as well as the inside of the De Young and Academy of Sciences museums.

When I originally took this picture I thought to myself "hey thats a cute kid in a red hat".  However, when I looked at it afterwards I realized that this kid is actually pointing at me and it appears that he is starting to mouth the words "f*ck you".  I swear its true...think about that and look at the picture again.

This is a really good band that was playing on the side of the road.  Unfortunately, Rachel nor myself can remember the name of the band.

Duplicate Images: Part 2

Today, I felt inspired to give another go at cloning myself. Actually I wanted to clone Rachel, but she was not a willing participant.  So, that is why there are so many pictures of me... I swear I am not that narcissistic...
