Photography stole my hat...

This is my hat.  It is now in the San Francisco Bay.  It was worn on a daily basis and will be missed as it travels to the Pacific Ocean.

I lost my hat when it was blown off of my head by some punishing winds coming in off the Bay.  I even had the foresight to turn it backwards, but a particularly strong gust took it as I turned my head slightly.  The reason that I was braving these hurricane-like winds was the inspiration that I gained from an online photography class that I watched last week.  The class was featured on CreativeLive.com and covered all of the fundamentals of photography.  If you are interested in photography, I would highly recommend CreativeLive.com.  The classes are free when watched in real time through live streaming.  One of the main takeaways from this class was putting in the effort to become a better photographer.  This resonated with me and I immediately sought to put forth said effort.  I intended to shoot something else, but when I saw the waves crashing off the Bay I parked the car and found a good spot.  It was almost unbearable due to the tornado-like winds, but I thought to myself "this is putting forth the effort".  In the end I shot for a little over an hour, but sadly did not get the epic wave crashing shot that I was trying to achieve.  Below are some pictures that I liked the best, although none really capture the monsoon that I encountered.

I lost my hat, but it was worth it.  Even if I did not end up with any great pictures, I did end up putting forth the effort and that will inevitably lead to great pictures some day.  Thank you for stopping by and take care.
